Interview of Charles Baker Harris ( Dill )

Q: Do you live here in Maycomb County?

A: No, I live in Meridian, Mississippi. I'm staying here for the summer with my aunt Rachel and will be coming here every summer.

Q: Do you have any friends here?

A: Well, this is my first time here but I met two new friends named Scout and Jem.

Q: Do you know of the Radley family?

A: Yeah, I've been told about them from Scout and Jem. They must be very scary because Scout and Jem won't even step on their property.

Q: How's your relationship between you and Scout?

A: Umm. I like her a lot. I even asked her to marry me once we get older.

Q: Do you really live in Meridian, Mississippi?

A: To tell the truth, I don't. I move around from relative to relative every year, and it just so happens that I am at Miss Rachel's house for the summer.

Q: If so, than do you know where your father is?

A: No, but I don't like to talk about this.

Q: Have you gotten a good look at Arthur Radley ( Boo Radley)?

A: No, I didn't. I saw his shadow just after Scout did. Almost peed my pants to be honest.

Q: What excuse did you come up with to prevent from getting in trouble?

A: I said we were playing strip poker. It was the first thing to pop up in my mind. (Laughs)

Q: Why do you want to see Arthur Radley ( Boo Radley) so bad?

A: After hearing the stories about how he doesn't ever come outside, I felt bad for him so I decided to try and make him.

Q: From what I hear, aren't you, Jem, and Scout afraid to even get near their house?

A: Yeah, we are but.....I just...I must see him. I guess you can say that I'm quite nosey.
